I'm so so sorry, kids, but I have to tell you I have no idea what is going on in your lives right now, and I don't have anything like the time necessary to catch up, either. It's enormous levels suck, along with the fact that I barely have time (or money) to phone people, either. I don't have time to get actually lonely, but there's enough time to miss friend people. :/

You know what worries me? The fact that people use Facebook groups as an excuse not to actually do anything. It's like that whole 'copy&paste this entire statement if you agree with it' thing that goes around LJ on occasion.

Random, yes, I know.

I went into town on Saturday and trundled about buying things for my whole camping-with-the-yr-7s thing, and then when I was on my way to the bus stop and lugging a sleeping bag and a bag of clothes and so on and so forth I happened to catch sight of the queue to see Neil Gaiman. What could I do but join it? So now I have a signed copy of the first Sandman and a renewed crush on the be-mussed one.

Possibly my favourite comment was when he was saying how he never knows how to answer when people asks him why he uses so many myths and legends; he said he wished he had an origins story where at the age of four he got bitten by a radioactive myth.

*grins*

There was also reading from The Graveyard Book - stuff he's never read to people before, apparently - and something from Odd and the Frost Giants. It was awesome. And it's always encouraging to listen to someone you admire talking about writing and thinking ...I feel that way too! Maybe I'm not that crap after all!
