Nov. 11th, 2007 08:31 pmAhahaha panic.
I was told last week that I wouldn't be teaching tomorrow.
Apparently I'm teaching tomorrow.
I was also told last week - two lessons too late - that Billy Collins, the poems we had selected, were excellent for a top set year nine class but not for the bottom set we'd picked. So now I'm running around like the proverbial decapitated poultry and wondering what on earth to teach them tomorrow, which poems I can pick by the aforementioned poet (nice alliteration, no?) that will illustrate language features or rhetorical devices or will in some way develop their understanding of poetry and convince the teacher that I'm not a big screw-up for judging this wrong.
Breathing. Right. I remember how to do that.
ETA: Lesson plan sorted. Incredible headache. This whole teaching thing is going to require me being a hell of a lot more organised, I see.
