Things one should not attempt to do while concussed #372: Record podfic.

This leads to spending over an hour reading out a story, only to realise that the microphone is not actually PLUGGED IN, and the whole thing has been recorded on the shitty mic built into the laptop and is therefore COMPLETELY UNUSABLE.

I'd headdesk if I didn't think it'd cause more damage.

I had asked before, but I am slow like that: Is there a big audience for such things? Is it just a straight read?

There seems to be a pretty good audience for them, and yeah, straight read, with adopting of character voice as and when appropriate. Obviously I can't do that 'cos my accent's kind of a give away, but my Sheppard voice is a little more drawly.

Experiment! The only thing I do is ask authors first, which some people don't, just to be polite. I dunno, what else do you wanna know?
