It is totally who he is! seekritly! And Leonard is Zelenka. and.. Penny can be Elizabeth, I guess, just because I always was fond of Radek/Elizabeth.
And if, in theory, there were a John Sheppard character, he would totally be Penny's gay ex-boyfriend that she went to high school with in Nebraska and his name would totally be Nate.
