I'm horribly, dreadfully behind on my work right now, but I have to say that it's worth it. Last night it was my flatmate's birthday treat, and we went to watch Much Ado in the botanical gardens. I didn't realise beforehand, but it was the Lord Chamberlain's Men who I saw a couple of years ago performing Macbeth in Cardiff Castle, and it was absolutely awesome. The guy who played Hero was the same one who had played Lady Macbeth before, and he was just as fabulous; he genuinely has female mannerisms down, much more convincingly than the bloke playing Beatrice.

After that we went to a pub called the Pig and Fiddle, which played Mr Scruff and the Go Team within minutes of our arrival so I knew it was my kind of place. Where we were sitting there was a fancy dress party going on, and I have a picture on my phone of the Spirit of Jazz and the Hitcher from the Mighty Boosh. After that we pottered to another pub, drank more, and then came home to watch a couple of episodes of the IT Crowd.

I'm now faintly overhung and dehydrated, I'm going to have to work like a dog to get things done for this week, but I had forgot how awesome it was to have a social life that I didn't have to spend hours on a train for. XD

...would it be too dreadfully indulgent to go see Much Ado again in Cardiff, you think?

Oh, that sounds cool! Mmm, Shakespeare. Much Ado is one of my favourites. Yay for having a bit of a social life! :)

And totally go again. Shakespeare is never too dreadfully self-indulgent. It's posh and educational, in addition to entertaining. ;)
