No offense meant to whoever made it, but the video in which fans insist David Hewlett say 'I love you too, John Sheppard'? I cringe. Seriously. I mean yeah, it's not on a par with the whole Michael Rosenbaum sextoys incident, but still.

I think he's probably the safest person to do it to, weird as that sounds, because he is a hopeless fanboy, he knows that some of us are vaguely normal. It's just... I so don't want to make him uncomfortable because he's one of the most generous celebrities I've ever come across, with his time and his life, and I would hate to see that spoiled.

This is very true. And he is SO gracious. But that kind of makes it worse? In a way? It's like, all the wonderful, nice things he does for his fans aren't enough, we're going to make him do this too.

I loved the Joe Flanigan thing. Because 1)it says something about the relationships in the cast and I LOVE THAT! and 2)he OFFERED it. To ask DHew to say it is completely different and it bugs me on so many levels.

It's all about allowing actors to establish their own comfort zones with it, because they do like making us squeak, they do know about and refer to such things, but on their own terms. Asking for it just reduces the likelihood of fun moments like Joe's.
