Man, I love the idea of the DVD commentaries and I would actually kill to have someone do one of my fic, but I can't imagine for a moment that anyone would want to! Maybe someday, when I've written something vaguely memorable. Seriously, at the moment it would be like... 'Here is where she said something vaguely funny.' 'This word should have not been included.' 'Stuff happened.'

I'm totally reading through my current story and seeing all the faults in sentence structure and wording, and the amount of work I'd have to do to get it up to standard is exhausting. I totally need to just get it written before I start worrying about that, but it's 1am and tiredbrain makes no sense. So instead I'm totally going back over to face_of_joe again, 'cos the latest post keeps making me laugh helplessly. Best way to end a day. :D

... confession: I do not care for commentaries done by anyone but the author. I enjoy commentaries because of the insight they can give into choices made when writing, or inspirations, or secret cut scenes about such and such thing. But only the author can give such things!

perhaps mine is an unpopular opinion? probably so. oh well.

Nah, I agree with you. It's much more insightful to the writing process if it's done by the author, for that special behind-the-scenes feel. Done by anyone else, it's about the reading process rather than the writing process. And that seems to me to defeat the purpose of adding insight.
