Do you ever just have those moments where you want to sit people down in a room - influential people, powerful people - and tell them that seriously, the concept of money is ridiculous and it doesn't exist? That you want to just say what is the point of pretending countries owe you when you will never get it back? Do these numbers, these billions, do they even mean anything to anyone?

I confess, the urge gets about a million times worse every time I watch Traders.

Humanity is just such a stupid little thing, in some very important ways.

I had that thought so, so often when I was younger - I used to ask my gran why we needed money at all, and I still think that life would be so much easier without it. Because yeah, now? We're passing paper around, paper that doesn't even have any value! At least it used to be gold coins or something.

ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Especially when my friends start on about share prices and the way the economic crisis is this person's fault and that person's fault. WHAT CRISIS? What has CHANGED? Pretend money! PRETEND. Gah.

Last night on the news, I think, with them talking about Wall Street and trillions of dollars, and I just started choking and going THESE NUMBERS AREN'T REAL. THEY ARE BLIPS ON A SCREEN!

I think things like this sometimes, but usually I am wishing I could sit down the writers of my favourite shows and have a Serious Discussion with them.

Right now I'd loooove to have a chat with the SGA team.
