...yes, the postman did just catch me hoovering my feet.

In other news: I ran out of prozac a couple days ago. I have more now, but I'm really reluctant to take it. See, when I'm on it, I don't get quite as low as I did, and generally I'm okay, but I can't write. And even getting out of bed and going to work is an achievement. Whereas today I've made decent progress on a fic, I've done a mountain of washing up, cleaned the counters, hoovered the kitchen, washed my bedclothes and towels and made some muffins. Think I'm going to leave it until tomorrow, at least; that way I can tidy my room and finish my fic before the cloudiness is back.

Possibly I ought to speak to the doctor again. :/

I was going to say. If it's taking that much from you, and it's only in exchange for "not AS" down, then it's time to talk to your doctor. *hugs*

Those meds are clearly not working for you-so yes, you should go back to the doc asap to start using something else that will help the moods but still allow you to function properly. Can I call you? *hugs*

Could you maybe call this evening? When Sarah's back I can make sure you have the accurate landline number, not the one she gave me, and I'd really like to finish cleaning up from cooking and get started on my room before I start in on the things I'd far rather be doing. Which obviously includes you.

...that sounded far filthier than I meant it to.

You're fortunate that I have such an innocent mind and I've no idea what you mean!

*dirty grin*

Absolutely ok by me sweetie, I'd much rather be on the later list of 'want to do' instead of 'should get done while I can think straight and work up the energy'

Doing me should never be a chore XD

Talk to you later lovely! *SQUISHES*

My mum takes prozac and doesn't get cloudy or tired, think you're right to seek an alternative that doesn't do that! *hugs*

Agreeing with everyone else that absolutely - you are the one who decides what side effects you're willing to put up with and how much, and if it's not acceptable to you, then change is possible. Good luck. *hug*

And I dunno if you got my email, but the number you gave me did not work, but I'd still love to chat sometime. xxx

Yes! I will let you know the actual number as soon as we can get Smaller's parents to give it to us, since they're the only ones able to ring us and we must have it written down wrong.

St John's Wort, sweetie. I'm allergic to Prozac [it would give me epilepsy and I can do without that thanks very much] so I've been using SJW to try and claw my way back up the slippery clinical depression pole. It's slower to work than Prozac, but a months supply only costs a couple of quid and there are no side effects. I can write while I'm taking it.

*hugs* I hope you find something that works for you. I've tried various things and really HATE feeling that I'm not me.

Interestingly, you're the second person I know who's told me that Prozac helped but made them unable to write. If you still want the support of being on an anti-depressant, it might be worth talking to your doctor about trying another drug (either in the same class or in a different class) and seeing if you can get the buffering affects without the writer's block.

Definitely speak to the doctor again. Each med of this type is different, even though they're classified together.

Also please don't full-on quit taking this type of med without tapering down first in stages; the side effects from that are rather double-plus-ungood.

Definitely do talk to your doctor about your meds, yes. If you're dealing with that many side effects for feeling "generally okay," -- then it's worth talking about, and seeing what other alternatives you can work out that will work better for you.

But also I second Aspen in saying please talk to your doctor about quitting Prozac, too. Cold turkey is not necessarily the way to go with psychiatric meds, even if you both agree that Prozac's not the one for you.

*hugs* Sending good thoughts your way, and hopes for finding something that works better, posthaste!
