Know what? My contribution to the gay agenda:

Every time I hear someone call someone else gay, in an insulting way, I challenge it. It... might help? I dunno. The homophobia at work kinda gets me down. That and how happy my mum sounds when I say I kinda fancy a boy at work. Bulletin: AM STILL BI. JUST LIKING A BOY NOW.

*sigh*

i'm the same way! you cannot use gay as an adjective or call someone a fag in front of me. i will totally call you on it. in fact, i have done so at bars when i've been drunk! just WORLD OF NO people. i will call you on your homophobic bullshit even when we are all totally inebriated.

work homophobia is *designed* to get you down. it gets me down too. let me ask you this, how many times does a person have to talk about being queer and gay marriage and gay characters on tv shows and in movies for the people around her to understand, hey! this girl might be queer! answer: a lot, apparently, because my entire job thinks i'm straight. and i'm like, do i need to fuck a girl right here on my desk for you people to get a clue and stop being assholes? honestly. how are people so stupid?

edited to add: woooooo! boys! fun for sexin' up and other stuff!

Go, you! It does help. A lot of people say hurtful things only out of ignorance.

Don't know what to say about your mom, except, yeah. Sigh.

*joins you in sighing* My boss is gay and everyone likes her but that doesn't stop them from being casually, stupidly homophobic about her behind her back. One woman told me that I should be careful going into her office when I was wearing a low cut top. Why? Our building is full of men, no one tells me to be careful when I'm alone with them. *deep breath* Sorry, rant over.

Absolutely every bit helps! You are awesome for calling people on that stuff. I am far too shy to do so, though thankfully I don't often mingle with stupid people like that. So my contribution is also words, but written instead of spoken. As long as there is some kind of dialogue, whether spoken or written, I believe we can make a difference.

Same here. I hate it when people call something gay, because they think it's stupid. And I just get angry at them for abusing the term, and try to get them to understand why it shouldn't be used that way, but most of the time they just stare at me like I'm stupid. SIGH.

Wordy-mcworderson. You should've seen a couple of people (one of them, hilariously, my hairdresser) almost give themselves whiplash when I mentioned going on a date with a guy recently.
