Mostly done with an episode of BSG called Pegasus.

Wow. That's really just. Not okay to watch, huh?

No, no, we're watching them all in order. Just. Fuck.

D:

And I was so chuffed at the beginning that it had That Guy From Hard Core Logo in (wot isn't Callum)!

Oh, God. Yeah. Pegasus.

The thing that saves it for me is that most of the horror is intentional. Aware.

Absolutely. It's incredible and difficult to look away from and I'm pretty much okay not watching that again. Yup.

Peg isn't a good one. I won't say it's the worst but... yeah.

I think it's an incredible episode, I'm just having a really hard time watching it.

Sorry, looking back that was really badly phrased of me. I meant the worst in terms of psychological and emotional issues.

BSG is definitely not afraid of going there.

Some eps, like Peg, are difficult because of story, others are more or less difficult depending on which characters you're attached to. I find The Farm really really hard, but that's partially because of how much I love Starbuck.

You know, I really loved that episode. In a It Deals With ScaryBad Issues kind of way, but that's part of the reason why I loved it. Hurt to watch, but the story telling is fierce.

Oh, no, absolutely. I mean, it's incredible, it's just fucking harsh. I can recognise its amazingness without ever ever wanting to watch it again. Like Dancer in the Dark.

Ahhh, okay. Yeah, for me, that's Fargo. I don't know why that movie is harsh for me, but -- ug. I'm glad I saw it, but thanks I'm done.

I... think I've rewatched Pegasus three times. Um. I have fondness, in a story-telling way, for depictions of torture? In that it's complicated? *looks cute and innocent and not at all creepy*

Did you watch the deleted scenes for it? They're. Even more harsh, so if not your thing, don't watch, but for me it's like wiggling a loose tooth. It's horrible and awful and I can't not watch it: it's fascinating.

(the prison-cell scene is... extended.)

I would...strongly recommend that course of action, yeah.

It's like you said: very well done episode, intensely difficult to watch, and those extended/deleted scenes are even more so.

There's a BSG movie called Razor that goes back to that story and tells a whole lot of other stuff that was going on. Really fleshes it all out, and provides a lot more insight.

I don't remember being particularly traumatized by that episode, as most of BSG was already turning my head 360 degrees every episode anyway.
