thinkin' thinky things

nnyStuff that has been happening in my brain due to flist:
- I am bi but my original characters often default to gay. I suspect this is down to having much of my reading matter be slash fanfic for 13 years, now. It was all formative and shit! How about you?
- I am awful at headers for my fic, and my summaries tend to be what I think is the quote best representative, from within the fic. Is that good or bad? I honestly can't tell. I don't imagine I'd get many more readers if I did it differently, because I am massively lucky with the volume of lovely people who read and think it worthwhile to leave feedback.
- I really need to find some lesbian porn that is not made for men, since plastic and fake moaning doesn't do it for me. Mostly I get distracted by the sheer amount of makeup they have on; what're they gonna look like in the morning, my god? It's interesting how much more difficult it is to find amateur lesbian porn on X-Tube than to find amateur straight or gay porn, and it's probably worth thinking about. I'd love to read an academic paper about porn and the whys and wherefores - I was tempted to do a dissertation on the frequency of different words/sentence structures within written porn and how it was different according to the difference in gender of the author - whether there was a pattern - but I was drinking too much cider at the time.
- I totally want to go back to studying Linguistics at some point. I thought I was done with it 'cos I really hated my degree and all, and I still want to do a religious studies masters at some point, but I also totally want to read more about animal communication, how language originally developed, and some more of the anthropological stuff about language in different cultures etc. This is what comes of trying to keep my brain occupied all the time that I'm awake, I suspect. It's kind of awesome.
- Speaking of keeping my brain occupied, I've bought this book. HOW AWESOME DO IT LOOK? It's totally for the hill farm apocalypse refuge, even though I live near GCHQ and will therefore be the firstup against the wall smeared into a little radioactive blob when the revolution comes.

Date: 2009-01-31 10:34 am (UTC)- TBH I don't think it's bad, you're the kind of writer people read on the basis of reputation or past experience. My headers suck! They contain warnings for PLOT.
- I has some porn clips of non-plastic ladies doing sex with each other and enjoying, but they are I suspect a leetle too BDSM for what you had in mind.
