So, SPN 4x12 has finally revealed the extent of my geekiness; I worked out what all the tarot cards were and put together a reading for Jay. It made me feel better after being told, once again, that gay-coded characters wind up dead or alone.
Villainny (00:37:36): Okay, would you mind my dork for a moment? unamaga (00:37:43): dork away Villainny (00:37:54): Okay. Jay's reading. Villainny (00:39:10): What you need to leave behind/release: the ten of swords. The ten of swords is a massively overdramatic card, it's almost overkill of the misery and sadness, and the key to understanding it is within that level of overkill - the person sees the situation as so much worse than it is. Villainny (00:39:48): The fact of the matter is that there are more opportunities than it seems like, you just have to be able to see them and act on them without burying yourself in this overdramatic sadness. Villainny (00:40:24): So Jay needs to leave behind the doom and gloom and the belief that it is the end of everything, because it is only the end of a cycle and things will keep turning. Villainny (00:41:58): What you must confront: The hanged man. The hanged man shows a reversal of previous attitudes or, and I think more applicable in this case, someone who sees things differently from those around them. Someone with a perspective that is completely different not as a means of being contrary, but because they hold deeper truths. Villainny (00:42:09): In other words, what Jay needs to confront? Charlie. Villainny (00:44:38): What you need to know: Knight of swords. The knight is the bravest of all the knights, an intellectual and forceful character, wielding his power in the mental realms, using intelligence to overcome his problems or enemies. There is a warning in this card, suggesting that others around him might not consider his choices the wisest, and might be afraid of where they might lead him, but this doesn't stop the knight - and he keeps experimenting and following his chosen path. unamaga (00:45:10): duuuuude Villainny (00:45:13): Jay needs to know that Charlie believes his path to be the right one, and that he is unlikely to swerve from it regardless of how others feel about it. Villainny (00:47:53): What you will attain: the Magician. The Magician represents the beginning of a new journey. Forceful, confident power, and strength of will, where mind and training focus on a goal. Jay's training is in magic, and although this is not the magic he knows and the magic he is familiar with he still allows himself to complete the trick, dealing with Charlie and taking the first step on a new journey that he will take alone. It ain't happy, but it's a beginning and not an ending. Villainny (00:48:11): So there's hope there. Villainny (00:48:15): Honest.
I totally extrapolated with the knight of swords. I. Er. Kinda counted the holes in Charlie's chest? XD
