Apparently all my students are coming down with scabies.

I feel so sorry for them, seriously, but at the same time FUCK. JUST FUCK. If I get scabies I am officially resigning from the fucking human race until it clears up, and will instead stay in bed and write stupidly indulgent Dean/Castiel and John/Rodney fic.

I am just a bundle of gross, right now, with the fleas and the fucking potential fucking scabies. This improves my mood NOT AT ALL, in case you were bemused as to what the increase in swearing means.

They're 16 year old unaccompanied asylum seekers who've been put in crappy flats, haven't had the appliances explained to them and don't eat right. Some combination of the above, I'd guess.

And one of the boys in my class has disappeared and is officially listed as a missing person and he's probably moved on to another town or gone to France - under a lorry - or something, to avoid the immigration palaver, since one of our boys recently got his request to stay refused, but. I can't help stressing and wishing I knew if he was okay.

Having caught scabies working a social service job, let me reassure you: while conceptually squicky, it's not that much of a hassle to deal with in the grand scheme of things. You get one tube of prescription ointment, which you apply two nights before bed, you send your clothes and sheets through a hot dryer, it's done. It wasn't my favorite way to spend a day ever, but it certainly wasn't in my top 50 worst days, either. So try not to worry too much. You're probably fine, and if you catch it, you'll deal. :)

I'm a dreadful whiner of late, I know this. There was a warning in staff briefing, though, and they made it sound so very dire, and I am just NOT WANTING more itching on top of the twenty or so flea bites. :/
