...internet shopping for clothes is ENTIRELY TOO EASY. Currently attempting to fight against all the pretty pretty tops in tabs with a whip and a chair; I'm gonna wait for Smaller to get home from work for advice.

Question, though - I've wanted a dress like this for frickin' ever. Do I go with the safe black option, or do I buy a white one and attempt to dye it forest green?

Sorry I've been lacking in fannish, lately; my life is being all lifey, dammit, and I haven't really had time to indulge as much as I'd like.

I actually have pretty much that dress in white (with some stains, which is why I haven't worn it in forever, I kept meaning to buy bleach; and then I gained back weight and it was too small for me). If you wanted to experiment.

Dying white things an even colour is quite difficult. If you try for even and it isn't it can look wierd so how about tie dying? That's easy to do and is it's patchy it looks like it's supposed to be. [did a lot in the 70s]

Hmmm. A dress like that won't look too weird if it comes out a little patchy, and might even look intentional; on the other hand, with white and with lighter colors there is the problem of see-throughness.
