I really recommend Your Mouth as Some Surprise by [livejournal.com profile] siriaeve. (Rodney/Teyla, 9,400 words)

The world that [livejournal.com profile] siriaeve creates is full and beautiful and rich, and the hints of Teyla's upbringing and culture are wonderful and make me want to read so much more. It was genuinely a gorgeous read, and I want to wrap myself up in the story like a hand-woven blanket. I am seriously lucky that it was written for me.

:)

Other news, other news... today was a zombie apocalypse day. Apparently my brain doesn't take much to draw that conclusion; absentmindedness wasn't an option, the open cast iron gate that had been left across my path could only be due to the carelessness of the living dead. Obviously the zombies had retained their ability to drive cars and ride bikes, since I don't need a 28 Days Later scenario to condemn the world entirely.

I went to see a mental health nurse a couple of days ago. It was - she definitely saw me on one of my better days, but she has declared me free of depression and has prescribed me a book on developing my self esteem. We'll see how that works out; I have to ring the mental health team every now and again, apparently, to show them that I'm making progress.

Today was a day of organisation and resource printing and bustling, a day of sunshine and cool breezes and American Gods, a day of boycrush telling me how incredibly red my hair looks in the sunlight.

On balance, I'm pretty happy.

Lovely icon! (Mental note: swap out some of the copious Who-icons for Age of Sail ones. Or buy more icon space.)

I read the Rodney/Teyla sticksnsnark fic you posted previously: I look forward to this new one. It sounds like a ship that could reconcile C.P. Snow's "two worlds" argument in a very adorable way.

Eep on the zombie-day: reminds me of that sequence in "Shaun of the Dead" where Shaun is going through his morning routine entirely oblivious to all the zombies still going through their morning routines.
