It's probably the most selfish of impulses, isn't it, wanting to have someone for yourself? Overtired always sets me counting, and I dislike the size of the numbers. I'll get over it with sleep, with something to eat, with the passing of the stomach bug that's still hanging around and making every day at work, everything heavier.

All will be well, and all will be well, and all manner of things will be just dandy fine. Later.

It's not selfish; it's normal to want, but I think it's just as normal to feel conflicted about wanting.
