May. 30th, 2009 03:44 pmJohn shifts his weight uncomfortably, rubbing at the back of his neck compulsively enough to be in danger of removing the top layer of skin.
"It's not that I'm not flattered - " he manages, eventually.
Rodney's still gaping down at it, his mouth like an appalled emoticon and his hands twitching spasmodically at his sides. A slow tide of red is rising in his cheeks and his hair seems to be spontaneously staging a protest, what little there is of it making a game effort to do an impersonation of John's.
" - I'm all for unconventional, seriously McKay, but don't you think it's a little - "
"You can't think - I - "
" - obvious? I mean, no one would really need to ask, y'know?"
" - where you think I'd even get - "
Rodney's eyes narrow suddenly. Apparently he's noticed John's subtle sideways movement, the way he's edging closer to the door, and the cycle of expressions from appalled through suspicious to livid, just the edge of his mouth curling in a promise of forgiveness some day, has John letting out a helpless snort of laughter that's immediately echoed by Ronon and Teyla, hiding out in the corridor.
They have a head start but that doesn't mean as much as it used to, and the thunder of McKay's footsteps are close on their heels when he informs them, at the top of his lungs, that he will end them all.
It's okay, though. He never keeps those promises.

Date: 2009-05-30 05:14 pm (UTC)...Completely hilarious. I love the description of Rodney's reaction - it's amazingly easy to picture and even funnier when described. Also, last line FTW.
