Aug. 24th, 2009 01:43 pmI swear, Batman Forever has screwed my perception of time forever more.
It was my first big thing, okay? I got into the X-Files a little after, I think; Batman Forever I had the soundtrack, the novelisation, the behind the scenes movie book, the video with free t-shirt, the postcards... It was the movie that introduced me to the Flaming Lips, the Offspring, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave. It made me think that Tommy Lee Jones was awesome, Jim Carrey was capable of way more than the Ace Ventura and Dumb & Dumber comic thing, Chris O'Donnell was seriously quite hot. (Also there was Val Kilmer.) I obsessed over that frickin' movie, I swear that was when the fangirl was born.
And now everything in my life defaults to 1995. Whenever I am asked about something in my childhood I assume that it happened in 1995. That was the busiest year of my life, apparently, and all the surrounding years were full of cotton wool and water vapour. I mean, I have problems with anything that is measurable; time, temperature, distance seriously confuse me because I seem to be incapable of establishing a constant for comparison. My brain just doesn't seem to work that way.
And now I have a Chris O'Donnell on NCIS and I am so confused.
XD
