Tempted to sell myself as a pet on the internet. Reasonably clean, very affectionate, occasionally useful around the house, amusing on occasion. DO NOT ALLOW NEAR MONEY.

The gentle thumping you hear is my head bouncing off the desk. Again.

I find it incredible that as a single person on a full-time wage in the UK, it's not possible for me to support myself. I admit, the wage isn't the greatest, but it's not the least it could be - £15, 500 a year. And yet I can't afford to live on my own; I'm still at my parents house after moving back from Wales a year ago, and I don't see that situation changing much in the future.

When I lived in Wales and did have my own place, it was a a freezing (frost on my bedroom mirror freezing), damp and in poor repair.

I get so frustrated because I want to stand on my own two feet, but I can't. And I have no idea what might make it better (other than winning the lottery or some kind of revolution...).

Maybe we should found a commune or something...

Dude, exactly. I'm on around £13,000 a year and I live in a one bedroom flat, but I'm seriously scraping by every month and I have a quite incredibly frugal lifestyle. My rent and council tax together take up at least half of my monthly earnins, I'm stressing out majorly about the point at which I eventually get an gas bill because the insulation up here is dreadful and my heating has to be on a lot so I don't actually die, and I haven't been able to actually save any money for years, now.

I hate that we're being punished for not forming societally mandated partnerships. >:(

I'm totally behind the commune idea, Smaller and I have been talking about a post apocalyptic hippie retreat for ages and we're trying to assemble the necessary skill sets. I have this fantastic book called 'The Book of Lost Crafts' by Una McGovern, and sometime I'll make my way through it... XD

I can build roundhouses, and various other wattle-and-daub based buildings. I'm good with a loom too, though I'm not very good at making anything with the fabric once it's woven... :D

While I was at uni, we used to play a game called 'When The Oil Runs Out,' which was essentially us planning where and how we would survive in a post-oil sort of society. I'm thinking we might to better to just implement our plans now!
