[Poll #1544782]

For what it's worth I sleep with a stuffed panda called Ming Ming, and have since I was about eight. She's two dimensional now from how often I use her as a pillow for reading, and she used to have a baby called Chou Chou but I swapped him for a ruler. I am also told I snore like a freight train. The two are... possibly unrelated?

Augh I'm into the third age category now! I feel so old. D:

[livejournal.com profile] cowntsigmund is my answer. Hee hee. I mean, when I have a partner, then I would assume they win out? But right now, my answer to the poll is the Cownt.

I sleep with books. Generally it's the book I'm currently reading under my pillow. Sometimes there are two, when I finish one one night, and forget to take it out the next.

It's research books for me. I end up with funky hardcover bruises on my shins... My parents tried to get me to stop, but it never worked.

I like research books to sleep with! They give a comforting elevation and are less easily damaged than paperbacks. But I also read them significantly less awesome than I do cheap paperbacks, so.

I sleep with many many stuffed animals. Fewer here in Canada, because stuffed animals take up lots of packing space. The absolute constant is my little yellow popple, Sunshine.(She came with the name Potato Chip, but my mother refused to have a stuffed animal in her house named after junk food.) I've had her since I was almost 2, she goes in my luggage any time I travel. Yes, I worry about my general mental/emotional maturity.

On the rare occasions that I do share a bed with someone, be it sexual or platonic, I find I get really annoyed by the other person's presence. This, I suspect, is one of the reasons I am single - while I would theoretically like a partner, the actuality of other people is something I could not tolerate on a regular basis. Also, other people suck. Why must we have them?

I have a U-shaped toy snake called Hiss, and a giant pruple triceratops called Cera. And occasionally a real life smelly cat called Jasper. Even more occasionally [livejournal.com profile] ms_ntropy. Sometimes all at once.

Trying to explain to people why I like a single bed and I don't want a double.

Plus having to negociate (sp?) where limbs go when sharing any bed always drives me nuts.

So I can hog my own covers and have Teddy where-ever. (Teddy would be the bear I had since year dot)

When I'm away at school, I sleep with a small, strangely flat bear named Ted (I was a straightforward kid, what can I say?) that I lifted from a carnival display at the tender age of 7. Well, near him, anyways - he frequently ends up on the floor. He's been on every trip I've taken and to every camp I've ever been to.

When I'm not away at school, by bed is occupied by Ted, two miniature dachshunds (Sam and Max), whichever stuffed animals the dogs have brought to bed with them, and, curled into a ball in the far corner, myself. For such tiny dogs they really take up an incredible amount of space.

I have many stuffed animals, so they change with my moods. I have lots of bunnies, though, because that was my nickname since I was a wee squiggly baby. But there are other animals, too. Including a bright blue frog with dark purple polka dots that is so hideous it's actually awesome. :)

It's not that I don't have stuffed animals. Ones that stay in the near vicinity of mky bed. It's just that I nearly always knock them off the bed in my sleep, along with books and excess pillows. If when you wake up, something is hanging out next to the dust ruffle, I don't know that you can really say you've slept with it. (Sentient bedpartners tend to get pretty stroppy about this point, I've noticed.)

A real animal in the way where I used to have a fairly cuddly cat, and now I have a cat who... frequently cuddles with my ankles when I'm asleep! And refuses to cuddle with me any other time, because in her soul she's a rebellious teenager who CANNOT BE SEEN TO SHOW AFFECTION TO AUTHORITY FIGURES meaning, apparently, me. Oh Eva Luna. Feather's cat mostly gravitates to her room, but sometimes meanders over to mine too. So sometimes alone, and sometimes with one or two small fuzzy companions.

I sleep like the proverbial log. This may or may not contribute to our cats' willingness to use my legs as a backrest/pillow/etc.

I went ahead and marked "nothing!" on the second question, since it's the unvarnished truth (aside from the miscellany, composed of everything from clothing to pens or hairbrushes, that seems to end up sharing some part of the bed without my knowledge), but that's a recent development; I'd be much happier were my body pillow available, because it makes my knee feel much better in the morning.
