Ask Me Anything meme!

I do not actually remember the wording because it's been a while since this one last went around LJ, but basically, if there is anything you are curious to know about me because you are new around here/are old around here but feel like you should already have known it/have never gotten around to asking despite the fact that you know multitudinous other details of my life like what I eat for breakfast every morning, today is a day to ask it. (It does not have to be RL stuff necessarily! Fannish questions are fun too.)

I will not be offended by anything you ask but I fully retain the right to not answer questions, because sometimes I do like being a woman of mystery. Alternately, I may screen answers if for whatever reason I do not feel comfortable sharing them with the-internet-at-large.

For the record I'm going to do a little housekeeping on LJ. If I have you friended on LJ and DW and you crosspost your entries, I shall be bumping you off the LJ friendslist. It'll mean I'm more faithful to reading my circle on DW, and that I don't read everything twice. Should I not have you friended on DW and you're certain I should, please let me know your DW handle. ;)

YOU!!!! HERE!!!! OMG!!!!!!!! *glomps*

Where are you on the job situation? I read something about job applications, and then something about your job being safe, and so I've been kind of wondering about that.

(Ohshit I'd like to come up with a Smart Questions That's Not Indiscreet, but I can't think of anything. :D I have a zillion indiscreet questions I would like to ask you, though. SOMEDAY I WILL.)

What would be a thing we could do if we were gonna hang out? :)

It depends entirely where we were going to hang out.

Are you still keeping up with a-degree-of-vegematarianism? What is the hardest part about it for you?

Also: how did you discover the internets as a wee Nny?

I am! I eat fish very occasionally, and I eat eggs and drink milk, but for the most part I don't eat meat and to be honest I genuinely don't miss it at all. Every now and again I will snag myself a Cornish Pasty, but more often now I go for the vegetarian option. It's genuinely tasty food, because you're inclined to be more inventive with it, and it is cheaper too, which is always a plus. The hardest thing about it is looking for things on a menu that are BOTH vegetarian AND gluten free. The gluten free thing is a lot harder to cope with but worth it for how much better I feel; just, the look on people's faces when I tell them what I won't eat... I find it easier to cook for others. XD

The internet first came to me as a Wonderful Invention at my friend's house. She was my Rich Friend, she had a pool in her back garden, and in the summer her family would go on holiday and we would go and house-sit at hers. It was awesome. After that... seriously, after half an hour I was already addicted, and went down to Ocean Village in Southampton, to Canute's Pavilion, and used to use an internet cafe while people nearby rode one of those buckin' bronco things. It was a bizarre introduction to the internet and slash both, since I discovered that pretty early on, and it introduced me to a whole community of people who were okay with you being faintly hinky in the gender preferences (according to The World) and that has done absolute bloody wonders for my life.

I've asked a few people this question, but I like it so I'm repeating it here: Do you ever have recurring themes in dreams? Like stress dreams that always involve running to catch a bus, or a certain location or object or person that tends to show up in your dreams under very specific conditions?

Date: 2010-01-22 06:07 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] villainny.livejournal.com
Not that I recall, to be honest. The one theme in my dreams is that I very, very rarely have boring dreams. I have friends who dream about... I dunno, watering plants, about things that have happened during the day. If my dreams involve watering plants it's generally because it is a DEATH PLANT OF DEATH that will KILL ME if I choose not to water it, or possibly turn into a spaceship and take me to another planet where I'm a blue superhero...

My 'actual' entries (rare that I get time/mental spoons to do this) get crossposted from Dw to LJ. But my Twitter summary (a daily posting) is not posted on Dw. Up to you how you want to work it, I'll not be offended. You know me there as Celtic_Maenad. :)

How did you get interested in tarot?

(which reminds me, email coming your way!)

I was overwhelmed by fuckin' hippies in uni!

XD

I was massively cynical about it at first, but it just seemed kind of interesting; Smaller read tarot, and [livejournal.com profile] liz666 did too, and it kind of osmosis'd me, along with recycling and crystals and incense and all that hippy stuff. I only vaguely planned on looking into it myself, but then [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge bought me a deck (with SO MANY NEKKID LADIES) and Smaller bought me a book, and I tried out a couple of readings that were SCARY ACCURATE, and it kind of developed from there. I'm really interested in runes, as well, because my readings with cards are always hella blunt and would probably be suited to runes, and runic layouts appeal to me, but we'll see what happens down the line. I have my eye on some beachglass runes on etsy. :D

YAY EMAIL! I'm totally chuffed about reading for you, pet.

- What do you eat for breakfast every morning? :)
- What is your favourite colour?
- How did you get into fandom? Do you watching/reading something and then decide to participate in its fandom? Or do you read other people's fanworks and then decide to look into the source material? (Any fandom you want to talk about, or just fandom in general.)

Feel better soon! *hugs*
