So all in all, I'd say, no, you're not alone. I use the word all the time, also, but I got it from Fandom, so, that doesn't help you.

I do believe the Spanish came up with it, first: guano loco, and though the excrement of vermin can cause Histoplasmosis which can be debilitating, I don't think it makes you crazy. Who knows?

I'd use it, but only in certain contexts. I don't think it's weird at all though. Maybe the people you're hanging around with are the weird ones? LOL
