Just watched the Great Game again and almost smacked myself in the face with the ridiculous flailing. :D Today has been a day of nothing in particular; laundry, tidying, food shopping, and a lot of reading of advice for NQTs on TES.co.uk. I'm going to town tomorrow to sort out some errandy stuff before starting my job; I'm probably going to get a Blackberry (is that a good plan? Anyone got one?) The rest of the week I'm thinking that I'll go into school and do some work there, either physically - sorting out my new classroom - or computationally.

There were going to be thinky thoughts here, but my thinky thoughts are never particularly thinky or thoughtlike. Instead I'm going to potter off and attempt to put words together in a vaguely pleasing order for one or other of the fics I owe.

(Speaking of fics, I promote [livejournal.com profile] sherlockprompts again. Even if you don't want to take part you should totally leave potential prompts in the comments...)

I haven't seen it, no. I have plans to buy the DVD, so I was gonna wait until I've done that. :) Is it gooooooood?

HEE YES THEY ARE. XD I really need to start reading fic in this fandom more, but I'm kind of askeered. The output has been SO HIGH that I am a cynic and suspect a lot of crap.

ALSO OMG I AM SUCH A PICKY BRIT IN THIS FANDOM, seriously. There was mention of Watson's freshman comp book and I was like WHAT IS THIS NO I DO NOT THINK SO OMG. >:(

Ack, I know. :( Fortunately a lot of the stuff on people's reclists right now mostly *doesn't* succumb to that, usually because it's written by sensitive Anglophiles who know the value of a good Britpick, or by Brits themselves.

The "Thermodynamics" four-part series at [livejournal.com profile] libraryofsol is a winner, I think. It takes a regular fandom cliché (oh noes! The heating is broken! Must cuddle up to keep warm!) and uses it to explore John/Sherlock in all its awkward and experimental ways.

OMG DUDE I READ THAT ONE IS IT NOT AWESOME. I flailed repeatedly in the comments. :D

I loved the tiny character moments that were so spot on, like Sherlock paying local children to carry each other around in the snow so he could look at the footprints.

Are they purple and smell of brussel sprouts?

They smell like melting wires and old coffee. The colour's totally right, though. XD

(That was very Robert Rankin of you...)

I have no idea who Robert Rankin is, but thank you! :D
