Just bought the first two Dresden books from a charity shop for £4. Why do I suddenly feel like I'm on a downward slope, at the end of which I have no money? XD
If you like these, though, seriously check out the Felix Castor novels by Mike Carey. They own my soul. >:D

That'll keep you busy for a while. When you want more, ping me.
The way the Dresden Files works is the books are decent and fun right up until about book 4 or 5 when suddenly you are on a ROLLERCOASTER OF AWESOME. So if you aren't completely in love, give it time. Butcher has to grow into his own writer, in a way, and figure out how to make plot really work.
Marsters needs at least a book or two before he hits *his* stride. Again, there's nothing particularly wrong with the performance, at all, but you can tell when he starts hitting his stride as a one-man-play sort of thing, so give it time.
I say that as someone who was instantly hooked and devoured the series, so :D
