Jan. 5th, 2011 07:55 pmI like my new room, it's old and slightly decrepit and I'm not afraid of living in it. I haven't quite got used to the various noises yet, but I think that's partly because it's got the heating tank in the cupboard and the clickings and rushings remind me of a house I haven't lived in for 15 years, with added squeaking floorboards for variety. It's odd, but I think I like it.
And if I plan my path across the floor just right, it sometimes sounds like a whale.

Date: 2011-01-05 10:55 pm (UTC)Ours is only about ten years old, but the walls are so thin and the floorboards run through the building, so when someone walks next door, it sounds like it's in our flat. Was super creepy until we worked that out!
I'm glad you're more comfortable there than in your last place, either way.

Date: 2011-01-08 10:32 am (UTC)My friend's house is like that too - sounds like someone's running up and down the stairs when it's next door. Considering the weird presence of the house when she moved in, it's even creepier. XD
