A swift kick reminder of why I do what I do, today; a swift kick reminder of what I want. I want to be an outstanding and inspiring teacher, by my standards, and by my standards I am moving towards that too slowly. Most days I'm barely moving at all. I think I'm thinking, where nine times out of ten I'm spinning wheels and finding ways not to think... and these journals are excellent ways not to think.

I'm getting my priorities straight.

I'm going friends-locked, and I'm also going to do a massive f-list cut. If I do cut you I promise it is nothing personal, only that I am cutting down massively on fandom input and my time spent reading on here. Feel free to PM me if you want to know why.

I love fandom enormously, and I think it's important to have a creative outlet and a creative community -- but it's also true that it can be a huge time-sink and a huge procrastination enabler. Heaven knows, I've struggled with that often in my own life. (It's an ongoing struggle right now, to be honest.)

I hope you can find a good balance there, and that one way or another I keep hearing from you! Even if it's less frequent.
