nnyI am now done with working in schools, at least for a while. I got a £30 Amazon voucher as a leaving present and am trying to decide what to do with it - it'll probably be something sensible and Masters related. I have a house to move into in Sheffield but I haven't been up there yet, so I'm going tomorrow and seeing the house on Monday, and then it's back here to pack everything in preparation for a move on Friday; I'm going back to my parents' house for a week or so before moving to Sheffield with a minimum of stuff. To that end I've spent today sorting five bags of books and two bags of clothes for the charity shop, and I'll probably do another bag of nonsense stuff in a bit. I'm a bit of a pack rat but I'm not in the mood for it right now, and I'm dispassionately chucking all sorts of stuff that I have two days to think about before it goes.
Fandomly, I have mostly been ridiculously involved with Teen Wolf, which fits the typical 'two snarky white guys' canon trope which attracts fangirls like flies. The fandom is beautiful and productive and inventive and exciting, and the canon is silly, occasionally embarrassing and often infuriating. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be watching it.
Writing-wise I can't at all cope with beta comments, not even slightly, and that has put me off writing entirely. I dislike this intensely but I have no idea how to sort it at the moment.
(I'm thinking free Uni counselling. I'm thinking that could be a good plan; not just for the writing, my relationship with my brain and my body are also supremely upfucked).
I'm seriously looking forward to being a student again, and I intend to take advantage of opportunities I was too busy drinking to get involved in last time - there's a D&D society which looks tempting... XD
