If you havn't heard Jeff Buckley do that song, I thoroughly recommend it. It's actually better than the live rendition Leonard Cohen does, at least.
Also, I would swear the line is "the holy dove was moving too". But that may just be the way I was hearing it.

i think the line *is* "the holy dove" although "the holy dark" does sound so much more fascinating
