I have this constant odd balance in my head between thinking apps and things will solve all my problems, and steering entirely clear of apps because I worry I'll think apps will solve all my problems. In other words I get hugely excited about apps and then drift away from them, or I don't bother downloading them at all for fear of it.

I'm attempting two new things today: Mendeley, a free reference/PDF manager which allows you to highlight, add notes and such, and also automatically extracts titles, authors etc. for ease of referencing. Potentially hugely useful provided I keep it synced up so I can use it in uni and on my laptop, although I'm already finding many issues of metadata fail when it comes to harvesting the useful reference details.

The other app I've downloaded is MoneyWise for my phone, because my little sister mocked me for not using my smartphone for anything smart, an analysis which is pretty accurate. I'm a little wary because it does look like it's going to take a lot of maintenance, which I'm not always the best at, but my budgeting is dire and frequently screws me over, so any progress on that front would be amazing.

What are your favourite apps?

ION, it's been a couple of seriously unhelpful weeks for me; haven't really been working at capacity even remotely. I'm over that now, though, I think, and I have renewed determination to kick arse, partly because of pictures of old graduation congregations that I've been scanning in. The incredible lack of female faces in the earlier photos is kind of a reality check; I am lucky as hell to be where I am, and frittering that opportunity is pretty irresponsible, even if I'm the only one bearing the costs.

I now have three jobs, and an application form for a year-long perfect dream job. The weekend's been allocated to panic over that one. I also have two dates this week - went on one yesterday and have another on Thursday.

Things are going good, guys.

(I've been having a couple of rough weeks, hence my silence, but I will get out of it somehow. :) I always do. )

:DDD glad to hear things are going well!

apps I like are: Google keep, which is a nice simple note taking/checklist app; SAM, an adorable anxiety-management app--i don't use everything on it but sometimes I find parts of it helpful; a bubble level; and email.
