Hi guys! Have been absent due to removal of my appendix. You'd think that'd make me talk more, but apparently I only wanted to read fanfic for the past week. I'm still feeling pretty sore and vaguely sick, but I'm very much better than I was.

I've been slowly rewatching SGA which has been a delightful and nostalgic experience - it really does hold up as the ridiculous nonsensical space show of my heart. :D

I want to be writing but the inevitable uselessness of my current situation is having an impact on the old self confidence. Plus I will use any excuse not to write, because I don't know how to improve so I don't feel like it's worth doing. Counterintuitive, I know. I wish I had a step by step guide to being not shit, but I've never managed to find one. Ah well.

I wrote a ridiculous The Rundown fic? Now I'm thinking about the Hannibal fic I'm going to write for unconventionalcourtship. I hadn't posted any fic in an entire year, I realized last month, and hadn't written much besides that, so I'm trying to keep plugging away and not get sidetracked for another twelve months.

I have been reading Teen Wolf fanfic because my tumblr feed has an amazing number of highly specific rec lists, and sometimes I want to know exactly what I'm in for, especially when I'm feeling pants. For the first few days I couldn't bear my laptop, nothing heavier than my iPad on my lap, so going through tumblr rec posts was a lot easier than anything more involved. It's been a lot of fun!

What's The Rundown? I don't know it at all. I haven't Hannibal'd at all, yet, because my brother nearly died of encephalitis and I understand that's a plot point. He's healthy enough and it's far enough in the past now that I might give it a go sometime soon, but I'm not sure it's entirely my thing; I like a certain level of silly, unfortunately.

I respect the decision to write more! I've been mostly writing for good omens exchange only, for the past few years. I managed way more words this year - 30,000 in June alone - but the quality has been pretty appalling, it's all been a bit fic, writ, sucks a bit. XD

The Rundown is a comedy-action movie about Dwayne Johnson going to fetch his criminal boss's errant son in Brazil as One Last Job before he gets out of the enforcer business for good. I adore it.

Oh yeah, Hannibal hiding Will's illness from him is a big plot point in the second half of the first season :-/ There are a couple of scenes that show Will having seizures that managed to disturb me more than the gore. Hannibal is very funny, but hardly lighthearted.

I am knitting fingerless gloves, which is always fun -- I like knitting useful garment-y things on a small enough scale for me to actually finish them -- to a pattern I made up instead of using somebody else's, which is a first and is making me feel quite inordinately satisfied with myself. :D They're fuzzy and green! And for a friend, which is nice because there's only so many pairs of fingerless gloves I could make myself. (And gloves with fingers means entirely too many fiddly tiny tubes for my patience level.)
