I don't think anyone'll be surprised to hear that Terry Pratchett has been one of my favourite authors and one of my formative influences for over twenty years.

I am so very grateful for him and so very, very sad.

I saw the news on Twitter - or rather, I saw his last tweet retweeted and just burst into tears. I didn't realise it'd hit me this hard. I also just finished Raising Steam today, coincidentally.

I'm so, so sad he's gone. For his friends and family and for all those books that will never get written.
