So I finally got around to the interview meme.
autumnchestnut asked me some questions.
1) Inspired by last Sunday's conversation - If the LotR and HP casts swapped who would you want to play who?
Hmmm. Interesting. Obviously, first and foremost, David Wenham for Lupin. That really goes without saying. He plays Faramir as softly spoken, strong without being overt about it, and vaguely menacing... all of which are traits I ascribe to Remus. Plus... sorry, Thewlis, but the man's *way* hotter than you.
Hmm. Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan with red wigs as the Weasley twins, I think. They banter well, and they're a lot of fun in the commentaries and such. However, I'd then be terribly tempted to cave and write twincest... *g*
Ian McKellan as Dumbledore, because Dumbledore=Gandalf, pretty much.
Um... I think Alan Rickman would probably make a good Wormtongue. He has the voice for it, far more than Brad Dourif, even though I think he was excellent in the part.
I can't think of any more off the top of my head. If you want to know who I'd cast as particular characters, let me know. *g*
2) As a realist I've faced up the fact a lot of the characters are likely to not survive book seven. Who do you think will be on the casualty list?
Oooh. I really really hate it, but I think Hagrid's gonna go. Also Pettigrew, possibly Bellatrix... One of the Weasleys has to. I think JKR has a fondness for Bill (though that won't *necessarily* protect him) so maybe Charlie? *weeps* I reallyreallyreally hope Remus is going to come through this okay.
3) If Chaliver couldn't exist (disturbing thought, I know) who would you want to see Charlie and Oliver paired with?
Intriguing. I've read some good stories pairing Percy/Oliver, but the Percy wasn't terribly IC. I think possibly Oliver/Fred would be good, as I'm still shipping Harry/George. *g*
Charlie... hmm. I can actually see Charlie/Hagrid, oddly enough. Also, Ive seen slight hints of Charlie/Tonks in a story, and that was very sweet- it actually makes me tempted to write het, which is *very* odd for me. I also have a craving for Remus/Charlie, but quite frankly I love Remus with pretty much anyone.
4) Of everything that's happened in Books 1-5 what do you think was the most stupid/pointless? Did anything not sit well for you?
Okay- I hated the fact that Sirius gave Harry the mirror thing and then Harry didn't look in it and Sirius died and GODDAMMIT. It was so painful, because of the hope he had and then lost. I actually wrote a drabble about that moment. I just... it really hurts. :(
I'm sure there are more, but it's been a little while since I read them all. JKR is amazingly good at making me angry and frustrated.
5) Following on from that, what's been the biggest disappointment in the movies?
NO OLIVER IN NUMBER 3! WTF?! How can that be just? I mean... it would've been *wet* Oliver. Dripping wet. Uniform plastered to his body. Drips of water running down the side of his face...
*ahem*. Sorry. *g*
If you want me to interview you, comment. Also comment if you have any questions for me. *g*
