Sep. 28th, 2009 08:56 pmMy boss at work is awesome and trying to sort out more teaching hours for me, which would be great because I'm at the point of applying for a weekend/evening job on top of the full time. She is getting me to look into how many hours I need to teach for NQT type things (the amount of teaching I need to fully qualify, basically) and in looking into it I've found that I'm... probably not supposed to be teaching at this point. So I'm going to have to make sure I get this sorted as soon as possible; the problem is not in the teaching hours - although obviously I will be pushing for as many as possible please, since I'm not going to get any better at planning unless I'm actually doing it (and also the money) - but in finding members of staff willing to take me under their induction-y wings. And then there's the fact that I'm supposed to have planning/assessment etc. time, which wouldn't actually fit anywhere in my timetable, and I'm supposed to have professional development time with my induction tutor-y person, and I'm supposed to have regular observations etc., and I'm worried that the sorting of all of this will have them deciding to just stop me teaching and put me back as full time learning support.
At least that'll mean I have more time for a weekend job, right?
Le sigh.
