Hormones manifesting mostly as 'oh my god my fucking job'. Not, weirdly, stress about doing it or worry about teaching or disorganisation, because that's all pretty much in hand. No, it's more related to what my kids have been through and how shitty a place the world is sometimes, y'know? One of my kids has decided off his own back, though, that he's pissed off with everyone thinking his country is all about the deserts and camels, so he's doing an assembly on Iran. (He is, not very sekritly, my favourite. I have never met a student who works so hard, and he's doing it so he can be a policeman, because they're so much more worthwhile over here. How awesome is that?) I'm just - always kind of emotional about my job, but at the moment I come home and have to have a little mope before I can get on with my day. Laaaaaaame.

Want to go to Iran, now. When it's a little more settled, obviously. ALSO CUBA OMG I WANT TO GO TO CUBA. I need to actually start finding out about Places so that I know where I want to Go.

:D

ANYWAY yes. So. Free music!

I can't remember if I linked this before, but in case I didn't:

Fordlandia by Johann Johannsson, the whole album zipped.

Description from Wikipedia:

Fordlândia is the sixth full-length studio album by Icelandic-born musician Jóhann Jóhannsson. The album was released on 3 November 2008 via 4AD. The album is thematically influenced by the failure of Henry Ford's Brazilian rubber plant Fordlândia. On his official website, Jóhannsson explained the album's relation to the Henry Ford-owned location:

One of the two main threads running through it is this idea of failed utopia, as represented by the "Fordlândia" title - the story of the rubber plantation Henry Ford established in the Amazon in the 1920s, and his dreams of creating an idealized American town in the middle of the jungle complete with white picket fences, hamburgers and alcohol prohibition. The project – started because of the high price Ford had to pay for the rubber necessary for his cars' tyres – failed, of course, as the indigenous workers soon rioted against the alien conditions.

It's beautiful and kinda haunting, and if you like Sigur Ros or the Kronos Quartet or things of that ilk you'll definitely like.

Okay, I'm gonna go bounce around waiting for NCIS to be uploaded some more. :D

I dislike the number 11.

11 is currently the number at which there are no new emails in my inbox. It is the number at which nothing is happening, nobody wants to talk to me, my brain is inactive. Every time I see the number 11 I make this face:

>:P

In other news, there's a possibility I'm spending too much time on the internet, so the time to ask me to do stuff for you is now...

PS YAAAAARRRR KIDNEYPUNCH

I have no money to spare right now, so I'm offering a couple of things on the fandom comm [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti. You can bid on podfics by me, and a mahoosive and Really Quite Deep tarot reading. (Only offering one of those for the moment because it takes at least two and a half hours and is quite draining.) I'd like to offer writing but I cannot guarantee timeliness or quality, so.
