Good Omens snippet
Mar. 31st, 2004 06:04 am"Isn't it lovely?"
Crowley looked at the... *vehicle*, eyebrow raised. Aziraphael beamed at him.
"I bought it to potter around town in, like you with your Bentley. I might even take a trip to the countryside..."
Crowley barely supressed the urge to clap his hands over the Bentley's ears, partly because it was undignified and partly because he wasn't *entirely* sure where such ears would be located.
"I do not *potter*," he hissed. "My Bentley doesn't *potter*."
"Well pardon me, I'm sure. I bought mine to potter in."
"It's a mini, angel. Those things will never do anything *other* than potter. The Bentley, on the other hand, is a beautiful machine, and to describe it as pottering is an insult to it!" He pushed his sunglasses back up his nose and tried to relax, uncomfortable at the hurt look on Aziraphael's face. "Isn't white a bit of a cliche?" he said at length.
"Well yours is *black*," answered the angel, in a subdued tone of voice.
"Yes, but black's *stylish*."
"I *like* white." Aziraphael sounded stubborn now, but there was still a faint wounded edge to his voice.
"Oh for Heaven's... look, angel, I didn't mean to shout at you. I'm sorry, alright?" The smile that lit the angel's face was almost worth the taste of humble pie. He swallowed his pride.
"It's a very nice... car, angel." He mentally apologised to the Bentley for bracketing them together.
Aziraphael smiled smugly at him. "That wasn't so hard, was it Crowley?"
I have No Idea what the heck that was about. A random GO snippet with no plot, no point, and a mini. The mini has a name, but it hasn't been mentioned, and now I feel obliged to write something slightly more substantial about it.
Kill me.
And yes, this was all an excuse to use my new Good Omens icon. *g*

Az would have a Mini. As long as it was a real one, not the flash new ones that are hardly minis at all but just tiny BMWs. I can also see him in a wobbly old Citroen (like Giles had on Buffy).
Too cute. :)

Talked into buying something he doesn't want or need I can definitely believe, but flash and red? I'm not sure even Az would be gulliable enough for that one...;-)

Date: 2004-03-30 11:44 pm (UTC)Do you mind if I post a snippet at the bottom of this? I was writing something along the lines of: He he! And this so needs a continuation where... Only instead of finishing that sentence I wrote the sequel...

Date: 2004-03-30 11:58 pm (UTC)Heh! This so needs a continuation, in which Crowley and Aziraphale are driven, figuratively, to drink.
You know -> Crowley glared down at his drink, daring it to be anything less than sixty percent proof. He took an extended swallow.
Aziraphale considered his own glass, and then looked up at Crowley. "I don't know why you're being so silly."
Crowley grimaced. "They're cars, angel. This sort of thing isn’t supposed to happen. They're not even alive!
"Well, neither are we, in the strictest sense of the word,” Aziraphale said. “And you’ve had the Bentley for quite a while now; it's not inconceivable that it’s picked a few of your habits.”
Crowley shuddered. “My Bentley,” he said slowly, “is not the problem.” He glared at his glass again, which became full in self-defence.
Aziraphale tsked. Crowley thought he saw a smirk pulling at the angel’s lips, but Aziraphale raised his wineglass before he could be certain.
“Besides,” said Aziraphale. “I’m sure they were only fighting.”
“Fighting?”
“Yes,” said Aziraphale. “There’s only one parking space outside the bookstore, and I think you’ll find my car is less easily moved than the grocer’s sedan.”
“I suppose,” Crowley said carefully. “And it always had been the Bentley’s spot before you bought that blessed toy.”
“There you go,” said Aziraphale. “We might have done the same.”
Crowley swallowed the rest of his drink. “Not if you were a mini I wouldn’t,” he muttered.
Aziraphale tapped the wine bottle between them, and the liquid level rose several inches. “I heard that, dear.”

Love the icon.
