A random childhood memory.
May. 13th, 2004 10:07 pmWhen I was a kid, I had a baby sister. As a matter of fact, I still do, although now she's rather bigger than she used to be.
I shared a room with her for a long, long time. So when I got my own room, my bigger sister having moved in to share with little G, and my brother as ever taking the room in the extension, it was rather an event. My own space.
And you know the best bit of all?
The room that the two girls shared was not the most generous, space-wise. This meant that although there was room for a chest of drawers, making room for a wardrobe was nigh on impossible. That meant, therefore, that the only possible space for the wardrobe was in the hallway. Directly in front of my bedroom door. My dad removed the back of the wardrobe, so I could still have access.
I had to climb through a wardrobe to get into my room.
That was damned cool.
*g*
It's making me happy, just thinking about it.
