This is a really interesting article about adoption in the wake of the Haiti earthquake. Mostly it makes me facepalm massively and point people in the direction of various children's charities. It's also interesting because I've been considering fostering for a while - when I'm a bit older, and a bit more settled - focusing particularly on UASC (that's Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, by the way). I'm not sure I could cope with everything that's associated with it, but at the same time there's the fact that I would be helping kids who have more difficulty finding help because the cuteness factor has worn out, for them. Y'know?

You can tell I'm cynical lately, right? Don't even get me started on celebrities and adoption...
