I'll add that if it was still in the store, and you'd asked, they probably would've said yes. :) And if it was outside or something waiting for the garbage, then NO. But you didn't and so I'm a little cautious, is all. I'm not like going to chase after you with a pitchfork or anything.
I work in a shop, for my sins, and we give out papers free once they're going to be thrown out. If the bar code's been taken off it, then they get the money back for it anyways, so it's all good =)
