Some of the most disturbing lyrics I've heard:

Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders
What the part that isn't thinking isn't thinking of
Should you worry when the skullhead is in front of you
Or is it worse because it's always waiting where your eyes don't go?

Where your eyes don't go a part of you is hovering
It's a nightmare that you'll never be discovering
You're free to come and go or talk like Kurtis Blow
But there's a pair of eyes in back of your head

Where your eyes don't go a filthy scarecrow waves its broomstick arms
And does a parody of each unconscious thing you do
When you turn around to look it's gone behind you
On its face it's wearing your confused expression
Where your eyes don't go

Where your eyes don't go- They Might Be Giants

Weirdness.

Out of interest, what lyrics disturb you?

These ones seem sweet in parts, but I find them very disturbing and stalkerish. 'Specially the ones in italics.

Like a ghost don't need a key
Your best friend I've come to be
Please don't think of getting up for me
You don't even need to speak
When I've been here for just one day
You'll already miss me if I go away
So close the blinds and shut the door
You won't need other friends anymore

Oh don't leave home, oh don't leave home

If you're cold I'll keep you warm
If you're low just hold on
Cause I will be your safety
Oh don't leave home

And I arrived when you were weak
I'll make you weaker, weaker still
Now all your love you give to me
When your heart is all I need

Oh how quiet, quiet the world can be
When it's just you and little me
Everything is clear and everything is new
So you won't be leaving will you

Don't Leave Home - Dido

Hm, well this one doesn't exactly disturb me, but it IS fucking morbid:

I dream about how it's going to end
Approaching me quickly
Leaving a life of fear
I only want my mind to be clear
People making fun of me
For no reason but jealousy
I fantasise about my death
I'll kill myself from holding my breath
My suicidal dream
Voices telling me what to do
My suicidal dream
I'm sure you will get yours too

Help me comfort me
Stop me from feeling what I'm feeling now,
The rope is here,
Now I'll find a use,
I'll kill myself,
I'll put my head in a noose,

My suicidal dream,
Voices telling me what to do,
My suicidal dream,
I'm sure you will get yours too,

Dreamin' about my death, dream,
Suicidal, suicidal, suicidal dream,
I'm suicidal,
Suicidal dream.

Suicidal Dream, Silverchair

That is the definently the song I would have picked. It has some of the most disturbing lyrics ever, not only because of the meaning, but because Daniel Johns (the lead singer/guitarist) wrote that before they got to be big in Australia (which happened when they were 14). He wrote those lyrics, which are basically a suicide note, before he was 14. That's disturbing and sad to me.

Cheerful.

Ah well- he's got nothing to complain about now- married Natalie Imbruglia, the bastard.

*meeps* That is worrying..

The lyrics to "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult (I think that's right. I always get their damned name wrong) terrify me. Not something to listen to when in a deep blue funk..

Ever heard the acoustic version they used in Scream? It's terribly pretty. Not the most cheerful of songs, though, I'll grant you.

Disturbing, but in a good way:

Don't you mess with a little girl's dream
'Cause she's liable to grow up mean
Surprise you to find that I'm laughing?
You thought that you'd find me in tears
You thought I'd be crawling
The walls like a tiny mosquito
And trembling in fear
Well, you may be king for the moment
But I am queen understand
And I've got your pawns and your bishops and castles
All in the palm of my hand
[chorus]
While you were looking the other way
While you had your eyes closed
While you were licking your lips
'Cause I was miserable
While you were selling your soul
While you were tearing a hole
In me
Don't you mess with a little girl's dream
'Cause she's liable to grow up mean
I am beginning to feel good
Watching you squirm in your shoes
A small bead of sweat on your brow
And a growl in your belly
You're scared to let through
You thought you could keep me from loving
You thought you could feed on my soul
But while you were busy destroying my life
What was half in me has become whole
[chorus]
I was gaining control
I have taken control
Come a little bit closer...
Let me look at you
I gave you the benefit of doubt, it's true
But keep in mind my darling
Not every saint is a fool

Oh yeah, helps to cite, doesn't it. ;)

It's by Poe (http://imdb.com/name/nm0688091/bio).

The most disturbing song texts I know are by Goethe's Erben. German band, german texts, so pasting them here won't help much. Translating is hard as well, as they use a very lyrical language (hence Goethe's Erben). Their songs do have some high shock value, though, extremely morbid themes in extremely poetic language. Works always nicely.

TMBG have a lot of really creepy lyrics. "Put your hands inside the puppet head" freaks me out simply for that one line.

Isn't it terrible?? I was horrified when I came across them. Strangely pleased when I found the mp3... because it proved I wasn't crazy... but I still wonder how that song was ever on any Top Anything.

"Every Breath You Take," by The Police, even though it's one of my absolute favorite songs. I mean, come on. Creepy, perhaps homicidal STALKER. And yet...Sting, so that's all right, then. :)
