I feel stupid a lot of the time.

This is because everything I know, because I know it, seems self-evident and obvious.

Everything I know then is, in my head, common knowledge. Common sense.

I therefore assume that everything that you know which I don't is something you know on top of all the knowledge you share with me.

You all know quite a lot that I don't.

So I feel stupid an awful lot.

I forget that maybe you don't know what I know.

For example, I bet you didn't know I'm still in my pyjamas and can't be arsed to get dressed.

Ha!

I feel the exact same way sometimes. I feel that in my struggles to catch up on geekdom missed by being a lone geek in a backwater town means that everyone else knows way more than me in every fandom and they all know more fandoms than me. This results in odd looks when it turns out that something is actually fairly obscure.

This usually results in random babbling comments on other peoples' journals.

Though if it makes you feel better, I envy you for remaining in cozy jammies.

Yeah, I do know what you mean, although I have become used to the fact that I sometimes see pairings where NO ONE ELSE CAN.

It sometimes feels like the world has read the Iliad and can speak French and knows politics intimately and such. To which I respond AHAHAHAHAHAH! YOU SAY THAT NOW! BUT HOW ARE YOU AT CANASTA?

I can't actually play canasta.

My life is so sad.

I've got a tendancy to see pairings everywhere. Hell, even if I didn't see it initially, give me a basic argument for it, let me rewatch/reread/whatever the cannon, and it pops up for me. I'm a shameless shipper, all things considered.

The only political debate I've been in in the past few months was with a pair of mindless Bush supporters who tried to convince me how sensible Vietnam and the Cold War were. When we exchanged website links for further info, I sent them to Wolf Packs for Truth. I don't think they caught on.

I can't play canasta, either.
