What antivirus software do you use, if any?

I like AVG - it works as well as those programs one pays for, it's free and it doesn't hog as much memory as they do.

For the rest of it? I use Firefox with the Adblock Plus and NoScript add-ons. Also am using Windows 7, which has a nifty thing where it asks you before allowing things from an unknown publisher to modify your computer.

Malwarebytes is an awesome program to remove things that antivirus programs sometimes don't.

Any of that help?

Computers in our house and office...Avast and AVG. Both free, both decent.

Avast! I was using AVG until it clashed with something else on my system (don't remember what), and I was forced to switch. Been very happy with Avast - it's free, and it's saved me from a few stupid clicks.

Another Avast user here! No complaints, it's caught stuff that Norton and McAffee haven't. (Also, the free for home users thing ROCKS.)

Avast as well. AVG started having issues with allowing me into certain programs/sites, so I switched. Quite happy with Avast.

AVG Free, along with SpyBot, AdAware and MalwareBytes Freeware

On my netbook - Avast! It's free, it doesn't take up a lot of CPU or harddrive space, and it's dead easy to set up.

I had Norton on my (ancient, decrepit) PC, and my mom has it on her mac. I hates it, precious. It bogs down the CPU, it doesn't play nice with half of my peripherals, and the last time I had to update my mom's subscription, I almost put her poor computer through the wall, it was so frustrating.

AVG for me, along with periodic (by which I mean, 'not as often as I doubtless should') scans of Ad-Aware and SpyBot.
