Jun. 12th, 2005 08:23 amThere's something strangely fascinating about science labs.
I'm in the computer room again, and this building is quite strange enough on its own. Some time, before my NUS card runs out, I shall have to wander around and explore, maybe try out my new mini digital camera (I have very very little faith in it, since it is keyring sized, but I shall have a fiddle and see if I can get it to work).
There are carvings and stained glass windows aplenty, in here, random cherubs sprouting at random intervals from walls and wood-panelled corridors with views through into the aforementioned alarming labs. They look like they only need cauldrons to make Snape feel at home - strange twisting glassware which no doubt has a terribly sensible and down-to-Earth application, but which prompts thoughts of magic. The rooms, I feel, need stuffed alligators and astrolabes. (Er. Not stuffed astrolabes. Alligators stuffed with astrolabes? I fear it has reached silly o'clock.)
Apparently there are spiral staircases, too. Is it worrying that they're one of my kinks?
Speaking of kinks, I have the strangest kink for Crowley's tongue. Any mention of it and I get all flustered. Just as an incidental note.
Now I need to go find some kind of online Russian dictionary. There will be one somewhere, right? If there's a Welsh one, there must be.
Man. Takes me back to the days of X-Files fandom...
