Where is everybody? My friendslist seems to be full of communities and feeds. It's quiet. Too quiet.

*looks around in hunted manner*

Today I've been waging war on the state that is my room, with limited success. I am absolutely terrible at this because I end up finding fragments of story and poems I've copied from books and this, that and the other. I wind up sitting on my bed for hours, and resolving to finish up tomorrow, and leaving it for another few weeks.

I have various stories saved on my computer that I'd really like to be getting on with, but my flatmate has temporary loan of my monitor because hers doesn't work. I allow this because her computer is the one that's hooked up to the internet. And I'm nice, too, of course... but mainly the 'net.

So I'm not writing, and I don't know what to pootle about doing. Any suggestions? Or any people want to say hey? I'd do a meme but I haven't seen any around lately. So I guess instead I shall merely beg for comment conversation, since Smaller's about to go out for the afternoon and I still haven't quite got a voice.

Okay, so. Let's see. What kind of computer connection to the net do you have that a router would be helpful with? Not dial-up, I'm presuming. DSL (through the phone line)? Cable?
