nnyIn other news, my rabbit is dead. I'm not horribly bothered. In fact, the text made me laugh an awful lot. I think I'm probably broken, somewhere deep down inside. Heh.
I'm going on a course in Swansea tomorrow, whoopee, and I have the deeply pathetic voice of the soon-to-be-coldridden. Koff koff splutter. Blech.
In other other news:
"When Wilde was in Chicago he was asked why America was such a violent country and he said, "it's perfectly obvious. It's because your wallpaper is so ugly." They all giggled but it was a serious point. Beauty is not incidental to life, it's essential. Every single thing you see in nature, from the Arctic wastes to the deserts, is unconditionally beautiful to our eyes. Nature is simply perfect. The only things that are truly ugly, which make us feel bad, are things that man has made. If you grow up surrounded by the ugly it will make you feel bad about your species, guilt is the only, primary, fundamental causative agent for violence. It is where violence comes from. When Wilde said that about American wallpaper, he meant it. Aestheticism sounds like a lot of people posing around with pansies in their hands going, "oh my dear, how utterly utterly." It isn't.
