So, like, if there's a sequel, you reckon Zoe's pregnant? Is Joss that mean?

(For those not paying attention, second answer is yes.)

That was awesome, and I mean that in the traditional sense - it provoked awe. Joss Whedon is too talented and actually hurts my brain in that way where you feel that there is No Point Going On. Joss's got it covered, everyone else can go to Halkidiki. (I don't know if that's a real place, but it sounds good.)

There were inconsistencies between the show and the film, but I think there had to be. It works as an introduction to the series as well as a film in its own right, and for that to happen there are sacrifices that must be made, and I think a major one was subtlety. Relationships had to be more obvious in their dynamics, which led to actions that could possibly be argued as OOC, in the context of the series. And, as ridiculous as that sounds, in the context of Milliways. It informs my thinking too much.

I think one of my favourite moments in the film was actually "I swallowed a bug." Because it was so very series-River. (For the record, I missed Mal's 'hunh'. There should have been a 'hunh'.) My least favourite part? Wasn't Wash's death, because I hadn't had time to deal with it before there was dramatic crazy and everyone was falling apart and River was exceedingly hot and terrifying and cool. My least favourite part was when Mal sat in Wash's chair, and you saw the back of a plastic stegosaurus. That really hurt.

I was aware beforehand about Book and Wash. And I didn't expect Wash to hurt more, but it did. Maybe because... Book wasn't crew. He never really shared khef. He hid too much, for that. But Mal and Book... it was interesting. They'd never seemed that close, and the relationship should have felt forced for the film but it didn't because the potential was there. And he's still a snarky git, even when he's dying. I love Book.

Miranda felt like... I expected them to see a green building on the horizon. It was freaky.

And the moment when I realised what Mal's plan was, in Reaver space? I have never slapped my hands over my mouth with more force. I think the cinema would have turned as one and killed me if I'd shrieked that loudly.

I went in bouncing, I spent the film alternately bouncing and squeaking, and I came out literally high as a kite. More coherency next time I see it. Just... so good. I love it when my geek is justified.

Fixed now, I'm so sorry! I'm clearly a hugely evil person.

Me too. I danced my way out of the cinema after seeing it ;) Must see again...

Absolutely with the dancing. Literally. And I stood outside the screen and jumped up and down for a bit, too. It was a huge reaction, to the point of physicality, during the film, as well. Superb.
