It reminds me a lot of Samuel Beckett's "Company" (the one where he goes on about "said I to another and an other" or something liek that) but better, tighter. His felt pretentious. Yours felt true. If that makes any sense.

I've been staring at this trying to figure out exactly what it is about it that makes me go yes that's right somewhere in the middle. I think it has something to do with the I that slowly adds a you and then changes to me, which is somehow much more intimate after all the formalizing.
