This is hard! Animated? I'd have to go with a classic...Lady and the Tramp, but I did really, really love The Little Mermaid, too. Combo of live action and animated has to be Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I love that movie. :) In the live action category...hmmmm...I'm a total sucker for The Rookie. It's all about my addiction to baseball films - I'm pretty sure. *ducks head*
I love, love Roger Rabbit, and also Mary Poppins, but I was going to go with animated movies before I saw the first comment, and I'd have to say: The Emperor's New Groove.
Haven't seen the latter two, but I do rather like the first three.
I've a soft spot for the artiness of the very early Disney epics like "Sleeping Beauty" and "Snow White", and I'd love to get hold of "Fantasia" again, but of the modern Disneys I do like Mulan, "Panda" and L&S.
I did know that honest! I just failed at remembering a little.
*shuffles feet*
I do know what you mean about tP&tF, it's definitely one of the emptier films for me, but it was fun enough and had a decent message to it. Lilo & Stitch has to be my favourite of the other three. Makes me think of shati every time. :D
It's hard to choose between LittleMermaidBeautyandtheBeastAladdinTarzanTreasurePlanet for me. And if you count the Pixars then Finding Nemo has to join the ranks.
Sleeping Beauty. It's the one Disney-change to the original fairy tale that I fully support. Plus, Tchaikovsky! Cool, tapestry inspired backgrounds! AWESOME.
Classic Era: Sleeping Beauty "Dark Age" Era: The Great Mouse Detective Renaissance: Beauty and the Beast Post-Renaissance: The Emperor's New Groove Henson Collaboration: Muppet Christmas Carol Pixar: The Incredibles Touchstone: Who Framed Roger Rabbit
If we're going with the Disney-branded ones, as opposed to Disney/Pixar or Buena Vista or any of those, I have to give a shout-out to the absolute snark that is Hercules. I can't say for sure that it's my absolute favorite, but it sure is up there in the running.
For pure animation, Sleeping Beauty. The illuminated manuscript inspired art makes me swoon every time.
For overall story and animation, Beauty & the Beast (pre-special editions; there's a quirk in the original they've edited out of the dvds D: ), Mulan, and Lilo & Stitch. (Guilty pleasure: Treasure Planet because spaceships that are actually ships! I don't care if it doesn't make any plausible sense.)
For Disney-that's-actually-Pixar-and-therefore-far-superior-to-anything-lately, Finding Nemo and WALL-E.
I can pretty much never pick one favourite of anything. :D
Am also tentatively looking forward to Tangled, because it is vaguely Sleeping Beauty inspired (for animation and animal character elements, not story obvs). But then there is the stupid bit about the magical hair...
