Dec. 23rd, 2005 03:29 pmI've literally only just noticed the vocal similarities between Granddaddy and Mew. Hunh. When you add in Mercury Rev, it'd appear I have a thing for whiny indie voices. *grins*
Also, was listening to much Bob Dylan at Bigger's last night. I've never really listened to him majorly before, and I think I definitely need to investigate further. They seem to have a lot of his stuff cheap in Fopp at the moment, not to mention the possibilities for downloads - anyone have any advice about what I should look for?
And, since this is one o' them music posts, comment if you want a song that reminds me of you.
If I don't know you so well, I'll just send something that I particularly like and hope you will too.
Merry Christmas, kids.

Also I'm a h0 for this song thing. I like music. And people's brains. Um. Not in a cannibalistic way. Or an embalming-in-an-urn sort of way. Or pickling.
Did I mention I didn't sleep much last night?

Date: 2005-12-23 10:01 am (UTC)And Hard Time Killing Floor Blues by Chris Thomas King (http://s55.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2S4081I2K1IJD3DG9SCH539OBL) because it sounds like it should be a DT-verse song.
These aren't quite as obscure as I usually go for, so if you already have 'em lemme know and I'll find you some more.

Date: 2005-12-23 10:15 am (UTC)I originally saw this band supporting Martin Grech, who is another I need to send you music by, and they absolutely blew me away. They have a new album out which I can't remember if I requested for Christmas, and the singer looks like this (http://www.livejournal.com/allpics.bml?user=mini_maestro) which is kinda another reason for liking 'em. XD

Date: 2005-12-23 10:30 am (UTC)And, for no real reason apart from the fact that I hope you like it; it kinda reminds me of Raven, for some reason. Open Heart Zoo by Martin Grech (http://s47.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3TN155QW9BT3X1LG1A1CQ3E618).

Date: 2005-12-23 10:56 am (UTC)Also, Open Heart Zoo is really a very very lovely song. And it hurts me, precious, in a very nice way. I can see why it reminds you of him.
*snuggles it*
