I've literally only just noticed the vocal similarities between Granddaddy and Mew. Hunh. When you add in Mercury Rev, it'd appear I have a thing for whiny indie voices. *grins*

Also, was listening to much Bob Dylan at Bigger's last night. I've never really listened to him majorly before, and I think I definitely need to investigate further. They seem to have a lot of his stuff cheap in Fopp at the moment, not to mention the possibilities for downloads - anyone have any advice about what I should look for?

And, since this is one o' them music posts, comment if you want a song that reminds me of you.

If I don't know you so well, I'll just send something that I particularly like and hope you will too.

Merry Christmas, kids.

New England by Billy Bragg (http://s41.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1JHI1CPPOUP001PAROWLCAFNNB) because weird-voiced singer-songwriter, which somehow seemed to fit.

And Hard Time Killing Floor Blues by Chris Thomas King (http://s55.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2S4081I2K1IJD3DG9SCH539OBL) because it sounds like it should be a DT-verse song.

These aren't quite as obscure as I usually go for, so if you already have 'em lemme know and I'll find you some more.

Afraid I can't help with the Bob Dylan - I've never really gotten into his stuff. I do have one song, "In My Time of Dying", but I mainly got that because I have a cover version that I really like and wanted to hear the original. I would send it if I had it anywhere except on my abused little ipod after the computer disaster. However. Those that like him seem to REALLY like him, so definitely give it a go.

& you have already sent me music today! But, you know. More music is never a bad thing if you have something in mind. :)

Am I Wry? No (http://s45.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1EEY2TQABFCKP0V8XI0TNY605Z) and Snow Patrol (ttp://s45.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2TZGOJVXXGMXO10HWB0OTOZZ91) by Mew. Since you liked the Granddaddy, and all.

I originally saw this band supporting Martin Grech, who is another I need to send you music by, and they absolutely blew me away. They have a new album out which I can't remember if I requested for Christmas, and the singer looks like this (http://www.livejournal.com/allpics.bml?user=mini_maestro) which is kinda another reason for liking 'em. XD

Oh, Dylan! I have lately collected a bit of his stuff, myself. On the broken computer, alas. Still. Um . . . I am particularly fond of In Cold Irons Bound. And the ones Sweeney mentions.

Possibly I am Not Helpful.

Also I'm a h0 for this song thing. I like music. And people's brains. Um. Not in a cannibalistic way. Or an embalming-in-an-urn sort of way. Or pickling.

Did I mention I didn't sleep much last night?

For you: The Lamb (http://s57.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0MAFCN4LK05WM0C2PH0SXBIAYE) by John Tavener, because it's Christmas and last Christmas I sat on the sofa at home watching a Cambridge choir sing this on TV, and it almost made me cry. Beautiful, beautiful song.

And, for no real reason apart from the fact that I hope you like it; it kinda reminds me of Raven, for some reason. Open Heart Zoo by Martin Grech (http://s47.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3TN155QW9BT3X1LG1A1CQ3E618).

Mmmmm pretty.

Also, Open Heart Zoo is really a very very lovely song. And it hurts me, precious, in a very nice way. I can see why it reminds you of him.

*snuggles it*

I'm not help because Sweeney named all the ones I would name. I adore North Country Blues, If You See Her, Say Hello, and Corrina Corrina. So, I double the recommending on those. I'll email something if I find something lying about the harddrive.

If you want to do a song, you can? No worries. :P

I'd love some music that might possibly remind you of me. But if there is no music that reminds you of me, any other music is good, too. I'm sorry I can't help with the Dylan.

Dylan is God. Seriously. (Can you resist that grin?)

Go for Blood on the Tracks - and if you do, please tell me what you make of the mystery in Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts, oui?
